Not your average SWFL doula
As your dedicated labor support person, I’m here to provide assistance during your home birth, ensuring a peaceful and supportive environment for you and your family. I will take care of household duties such as tidying, dishes, and laundry, allowing you to focus entirely on your labor. I will also supervise and entertain your children, preparing meals and engaging in activities to keep them occupied and content. My goal is to create a calm atmosphere, offering emotional support and practical assistance, from setting up your birth space to preparing snacks and drinks. After the birth, I will ensure a clean, comfortable space for you to rest and bond with your new baby, giving you the precious time you need to embrace this transformative moment.
Example services include but are not limited to:
1. **Childcare:**
- Entertain and supervise other children. Including pets.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks for the kids.
- Read stories, play games, and engage in activities to keep children occupied.
- Assist with bedtime routines if the birth occurs overnight and/or morning routines as well.
2. **Household Duties:**
- Tidy up common areas.
- Wash and put away dishes.
- Do laundry and fold clothes.
- Take out the trash and recycling.
3. **Labor Support:**
- Prepare and bring drinks and snacks for the birthing couple.
- Set up the birth space as per the couple’s preferences.
- Ensure the couple has everything they need (pillows, blankets, heat packs, oils, ice, etc.)
- Keep the environment calm and quiet.
4. **Emotional Support:**
- Offer comforting words and reassurance to the birthing couple.
- Will step in and provide relief and traditional doula support when needed.
- Provide updates and communicate with family members if needed.
- Create a peaceful atmosphere with calming music or aromatherapy.
5. **Practical Assistance:**
- Run errands or pick up supplies if needed.
- Prepare meals for after the birth.
- Assist with setting up any birth-related equipment.
6. **Post-Birth Care:**
- Clean up the birth area after delivery.
- Prepare a comfortable resting space for the new family.
- Help with initial baby care tasks if requested.
- Ensure the couple has time to bond with their new baby without distractions.
The care provided will ensure a healthy flow and maintain balance within your home, allowing you and your partner to focus solely on welcoming your baby. You can have peace of mind knowing that your home, children, and pets will be well cared for. Partners will also receive refreshments and breaks as needed for a seamless experience.
These services are ideal for families without access to support from their mother, sister, or friend during birth. By handling childcare and household duties, I support you and your partner so you can fully focus on labor and welcoming your new baby.
These services start at $1400 with the option for upgrades to enhance your experience. Booking requires a contract and a $500 deposit. The remaining balance can be paid in smaller installments through a customized payment plan. Please inquire about my extended payment plan option for clients in their third trimester.
